Hogwarts Field Guide Pages Checklist ♦ Hogwarts Legacy

Completed Challenges provide experience and quickly level your character. Field guide page recovery is one of the first Challenges available and among the easiest to access. There are five levels of pages with cosmetic rewards in the Field Guide Page Challenge at 2, 8, 15, 25, and 50 each. These 100 pages will all provide 80 experience points toward leveling your character. The remaining 50 are for completeness.

• Revelio pages appear by performing the spell near them. A hazy ghost of the page may appear when approaching the location of the page, but this is not always the case. These pages are accounted for in the “Revelio Collection” of your field guide and display details on the objects or locations near where they are placed throughout the Highlands.
• Lumos pages are discovered in the quest “Like a Moth to a Frame.” Besides using the illumination charm, the moth-leading activity is utilized, which will be helpful elsewhere in the game. Beyond that, finding locations in the world from a framed picture that displays their flat image adds to the challenge of this type of page. Based on experience, completion of the quest was not always required to start finding these pages. Considering the unknown and how straightforward the quest is, I’d suggest completing it right after “Welcome to Hogwarts” before heading off to classes.
• Accio pages are the only visible pages. However, they are also enchanted to fly about in a loop until caught with the summoning spell first learned in your “Charms Class.”
• Levioso pages are held in the globes of wizard statues, which hold the spheres aloft. Casting levitation, learned in “Defense Against the Dark Arts Class,” upon the figure will open the globe and release its page.
• Dragon braziers hold Inflamarae pages. Considering the minimum spells required to unlock them, they are one of the last pages that can be focused on collecting. Igniting the brazier with a flame spell (Incendio or Confringo) will release its page. The Accio charm may also be needed for the braziers mounted at heights and distances too far to reach.
• Open – these are available from the point in the “Welcome to Hogwarts” quest where Professor Weasley indicates the use of Revelio on one location, moments after providing the character with the field guide. No other spells or conditions are necessary. This includes Lumos pages, the “Like a Moth to a Flame” quest is not necessary to begin unlocking them even though it is the first, easiest side quest to complete.
• Requires Alohomora Level 1, “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” started.
• Requires Alohomora Level 2, “The Man Behind the Moons” begun, and nine moons turned in.
• Requires Alohomora Level 3, “The Man Behind the Moons” completed with an additional 13 moons returned to Gladwin Moon.
• Other spells may be needed or only certain types: Incendio, Confringo, either Inflamarae, Glacius, Depulso
• Specified quests must be started or completed.

9. Scorch Marks – [Bell Tower Wing] Bell Tower entry hall, up the stairs opposite the goblin artifact and a bit to the left on the wall near “Bell Tower Courtyard” floo.

10. Grimbald Weft – [“History of Magic” quest, Bell Tower Wing] during the “History of Magic” quest, in the Bell Tower entry hall, to the left of the “Bell Tower Courtyard” floo, against the wall.

11. Frog Choir – [Bell Tower Wing] from the Bell Tower entry hall and “Bell Tower Courtyard” floo, and from the Scorch Marks, instead enter the stairwell heading right from the stairs away from the Goblin Artefact. Follow the stairwell to its top and proceed through a doorway into a choir loft. The Frog Choir is just there.

12. Waving Knight – [“History of Magic” quest, Bell Tower Wing] in the Bell Tower entry hall, to the right of the “Bell Tower Courtyard” floo and up the stairs then immediately up small stairs to the right, against the wall in the corner alcove. As a quest page, this is not part of the page count for the Bell Tower Wing.

16. Underground Harbour – [Great Hall] After completing the quest “Welcome to Hogsmeade”, north and east along the viaduct courtyard’s lower, outer path from the “Viaduct Courtyard” floo, use the lift in the wall under the courtyard portico to the first-year arrival harbor and the furthest dock on the right.

17. Arithmancy Classroom – [Library Annex] the classroom beyond the Arithmancy door in the center of the attic walkway, accessed near the “Divination class” floo, above the Central Hall stairs viaduct entrance hall.

18. Central Hall Fountain – [Library Annex] on the Library side of the fountain.

19. Clock Mechanics – [South Wing] Requires Alohomora I to climb from the ground floor of the clock tower courtyard and the floo there, or access from the faculty tower side, like the “Hospital Wing” floo after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest. Located on the platform between the main drive gear and the back of the clock face, amongst the highest walkways.

20. The Well of Four Beasts – [South Wing] After the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” event opens the castle gates, by the well in the courtyard past the Clock Tower portcullis, on the side facing away from the castle.

21. Haunted Toilets – [South Wing] on the DADA Tower/Quad Courtyard end of the South Wing hall, marked “out of Order”, commonly manned (poltergeisted? …) by Peeves.

22. Augurey Skeleton – [Astronomy Wing] against the western wall of the DADA Tower near the Astronomy tower stairwell on the same floor as the DADA Classroom and its floo.

23. Boggart Closet – [Astronomy Wing] Requires Alohomora II to enter the Faculty Lounge in the DADA Tower’s ground floor, the wardrobe sits in the rear of the room.

24. Dark Tower Cell – [Astronomy Wing] Requires Alohomora II to enter Professor Ronen’s office above the Charm’s Classroom, and to open the roof cell at the top of the spiral stairs where the page hovers.

25. Hebridean Black Skeleton – [Astronomy Wing] recovered from the elevated landing at the head of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

29. Gorgon Portrait – [Library Annex] Requires Alohomora I to access the Long Gallery under the Library Annex. The rather hazardous, petrification-capable rendering is held safe in the Arithmancy locked closet in the west landing of the Long Gallery descent from the Bell Tower Wing and the floo there.

30. Urn of Ashes – [Bell Tower Wing] down the stairwell from the History of Magic classroom, set on a shelf against the wall opposite the Kempthorn Tapestry.

31. Salazar Slytherin’s Scriptorium – [Grand Staircase] During or after the “In the Shadow of the Study” quest.

32. Map of Argyllshire – [South Wing] near the musical stairway of the South Wing hall, also through doors across the bridge from the “Clocktower Courtyard” floo.

33. Boris the Bewildered – [South Wing] during or after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest on the prefect’s bathroom landing.

34. Lachlan the Lanky – [South Wing] by the ramp connecting the musical stairway and the haunted toilets.

38. Jewel-encrusted Tortoise Shell – [South Wing] during or after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest, in front of the display case set outside Professor Sharp’s dormitory.

39. Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance – [Grand Staircase] after “Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial” requires Alohomora III to reach the Key (of Acceptance) upon the table in the Headmaster’s High Lounge, to be used on the four lock Door (of Admittance) down the hall opposite the griffon staircase to the Headmaster’s Office. Seems relatively Secret.

40. Centaur Armour – [Grand Staircase] one display in the Trophy Room surround opposite the floor’s floo.

41. Moving Staircase – [Grand Staircase] on a center landing above the Ravenclaw Tower spur.

45. Sleeping Portraits – [Grand Staircase] During or after the “Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial” in the Headmaster’s Office to the left upon exiting the griffon stairwell.

46. The Sorting Hat – [Grand Staircase] During or after “Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial” in the Headmaster’s Office to the right after entering to office proper.

47. Troll Armour – [Grand Staircase] set against the wall opposite the “Trophy Room” floo, next to the display room entrance and the top of the tower stairs.

48. Trophy Room – [Grand Staircase] near the center of the room displaying all manner of awards between the heights of the Grand Staircase Tower and the Head Faculty Tower above.

49. The Hogwarts Architect – [Grand Staircase] on the landing before and above the House hourglass display, a statue depicts the wizard who imagined this castle long ago.

50. The Great Hall Ceiling – [Great Hall] calling attention to the magic overhead, it hovers before the tables at the hall’s rear.

51. The Yawning Gargoyle – [Great Hall] overlooking the gardens between the Great Hall and the Quad Courtyard under which the Hufflepuff common room lies.

52. Hogwarts Crest – [Great Hall] placed before the great crest first seen upon entering the hall from the Viaduct Courtyard.

53. House Point Hourglasses – [Great Hall] keeping the House Cup score in the vertex of the Great Hall, the Grand Staircase, and the Viaduct Courtyard.

54. Owl Lectern – [Great Hall] placed between the Faculty table and the house tables.

55. Greenhouse Tree – [Library Annex] the first sight upon entering the Greenhouses from the Central Hall descent, the page is opposite the “Greenhouse” floo here.

56. Dirigible Plums – [Library Annex] part of Professor Garlick’s recent projects, down the stairs of the west house’s north wing.

57. Bloody Meat – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I, in the north ramparts to the west of the gate, a butchery keeps fresh meat and the tools for proparing it on hand for the thestrals stabled here.

58. Caged Bathtub – [Bell Tower Wing] After completing the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” quest, a point of incarcerated porcelain in the west-most rampart tower.

59. Glumbumbles – [Bell Tower Wing] After completing the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” event, on the landing northeast of the greenhouse patio.

60. Castle Ramparts – [Bell Tower Wing] After the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” quest is done, in a tower to the east of the north rampart wall.

61. Hogwarts Owls – [Bell Tower Wing] After the quest “Welcome to Hogsmeade” and a long trek up to the owl roost on its promontory west of the school.

62. Quidditch Pitch – [Bell Tower Wing] After “Welcome to Hogsmeade” at an elevated overlook outside the broken ramparts, west of the pitch.

63. Statue of Gregory the Smarmy – [Library Annex] adjacent the Central Hall’s south descent to the Transfiguration Courtyard near the Potions Class hallway and floo.

64. Unicorn Fountain – [South Wing] During or after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest, in the same Faculty Tower landing hallway as the “Hospital Wing” floo.

65. Hufflepuff Barrels – [Grand Staircase] at the far end of the Kitchen’s hallway where Hufflepuffs find their commons.

67. Pear Portrait – [Great Hall] before the not so secret entrance to the House-elf kitchens.

71. Enchanted Books – [Library Annex] during or after “Secrets of the Restricted Section” quest, on the second subfloor, beyond where the library ghosts keep watch.

72. Palmistry Model – [Library Annex] a divining tool amongst Professor Onai’s Divination classroom displays.

73. Book on Intermediate Transfiguration – [“Professor Weasley’s Assignment” quest, Library Annex] Sephronia Franklin’s lore quiz unlocks this point to complete Professor Weasley’s task.

74. Alchemy Class – [Astronomy Wing] requires Alohomora II, the locked door in the base of the bell tower wing flanked by cauldrons, this one hovers before the unlocked door.

75. Important Muggle Artifact – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I, in the locked Muggle Studies classroom, the first locked door, in the Bell Tower basement hall. The detail calls attention to the left-hand wall display case.

76. Sleeping Dragon Statue – [Bell Tower Wing] in a recessed cubby at the base of the Bell Tower stairs, another reference to the school motto is hinted by the page.

77. Sphinx Statue – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I, in the Hieroglyphics Hall, against the exterior wall, beyond the History of Magic classroom back door.

78. Werewolf Saga Tapestries – [Bell Tower Wing] Beyond the ‘K’ tapestry covered door, the Bell Tower wing down the stairs toward the basement classrooms and cask storage levels, the point calls out this storybook tragedy in tapestry form.

79. Groundskeepers Tools – [Highlands] After “Welcome to Hogsmeade,” inside the hut on the path from the castle’s south exit. This page accounts with the castle’s pages in terms of challenges but the page is treated as a highlands page in the Southern Hogwarts Region for the total page count.

80. Fat Lady Portrait – [South Wing] in the hallway leading to the Gryffindor common room between the Faculty Tower and the South Wing musical staircase.

81. Ravenclaw Bust – [Grand Staircase] (discovered as part of “Welcome to Hogwarts” main quest for Ravenclaw students) midway between the Ravenclaw Tower hallway and the Ravenclaw common room’s puzzle posing guardian.

82. Ravenclaw Doorknocker – [Grand Staircase] the marker denoting the barrier over the Ravenclaw common room door.

83. Deathday Party Room – [Great Hall] requires Alohomora I to pass the portcullis to the Hogwarts ghost’s hall for a departed one’s most special occasion.

84. Kelpie Statue – [Grand Staircase] (discovered as part of the “Welcome to Hogwarts” main quest for Slytherin students) for the Statue depicting the Scottish creature on the stairway landing heading up passage to the Central Hall’s viaduct entrance.

85. Slytherin’s Sink – [Great Hall] occasionally spoken of by slightly more observant Slytherins, the carved serpent on the tap at this lavatory basin though unique, serves no purpose that anyone that has tried can discern.

86. Wyvern Fountain – [Astronomy Wing] an elegantly simple centrepiece for the central pool of the Transfiguration Courtyard.

87. Detention Chamber – [Great Hall] requires Alohomora II, beneath the Hall to the far end of the dungeons this note marks the location of many an unruly student’s rewards.

88. Headless Hunt Tapestry – [Great Hall] requires Alohomora I, also within the ghost’s celebration space, this tapestry commemorates the departed pasttime known as the Headless Hunt.

89. Pungent Passage – [Astronomy Wing] a former non-descript exit hall from the DADA Tower to the Beast’s Class lawn now bears the ignominy of a mass stink-sap investiture.

90. Portrait of Sir Cadogan – [Library Annex] the Central Hall Viaduct Entry Hall mezzanine, its south walkway, set in the western wall.

Lumos (Moth Frame) Pages (15 Pages)

The “Like a Moth to a Frame” quest introduces the Lumos Field Guide Page mechanism, though it does not exist as a prerequisite to releasing these pages. A moth frame must be activated with a nearby Lumos-lit wand, and its moth will appear near the pictured location or near the pictured view. Finding the moth, leading it back to, and releasing it near the frame releases the page.

1. Central Hall (The Quest Frame) – [Library Annex] Lenora’s curiosity draws attention to this page immediately after finishing Professor Weasley’s welcome, whose moth sets a wall aside the north descent near a corpulent statue.

2. Library – [Library Annex] mounted in the corner wall of the upper floor stacks, the moth rests upon a bookstand before the Old Librarian’s image.

3. Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower – [Astronomy Wing] set to the east wall of the top floor of the DADA Tower, its moth is lit upon a pillar before the door of Professor Fig’s Basic Magic classroom and the floo there.

4. Great Hall – [Grand Staircase] the Great Hall antechamber frame observes the students pass into the hall where its moth rests on the sill behind the faculty table.

5. Viaduct Courtyard – [Great Hall] mounted to the north wall of the Courtyard surround, the frame awaits a moth lit on an exterior wall under the awning west of the hall entrance doors.

6. Pungent Passage – [Astronomy Wing] on your right, entering the stink-sap-plagued corridor, the tapestry pictured, where sits the moth, hangs ahead to the left wall, adjacent to the “West Tower” floo.

7. Dungeon Halls – [Great Hall] east from the Kelpie Statue and the obscured Slytherin common room door, the turn-wall between the lavatories holds the frame, while the south wall, even further ahead on the right, awaits the moth.

8. Ravenclaw Tower Base – [Grand Staircase] the frame displays a corner in the above room adjoining the Ravenclaw Tower hall and the tower stairwell, up the stairs, and a sharp right turn will show you the waiting moth.

9. Astronomy Tower – [Astronomy Wing] from the “Astronomy Tower” floo, several flights up, toward the observation deck, the frame appears on the left wall in a fireplace-appointed landing hall. At the same time, the moth sits atop a diagram-filled chalkboard on the deck itself to the left as you arrive.

10. Map Hidden Closet – [South Wing] Argyllshire, and a pressure button, hides the room with a frame, showing an un-haunted lavatory door, the moth waits within.

11. Long Gallery – [Library Annex] requires Alohomora I to enter the Long Gallery’s either end. The frame hangs on the north wall midway through the gallery, while the revealed, mounted troll-display has a moth lit on its mantle.

12. Bell Tower – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I, not for the frame above the landing of the stairwell across from the History of Magic classroom doorway, but for the Hieroglyphics Hall door behind Professor Binn’s desk where the moth sits upon a plant’s pot.

13. North Rampart – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I to open the eastside coach closet, the frame on the right-hand wall shows a rampart tower further east where the moth is waiting.

14. Clock Tower closet – [South Wing] Requires Alohomora I for the west locked door in the Clock Tower Courtyard. The view depicts the pillars supporting the courtyard awning surround. While bearing right, pass out of the closet, through the hall to the courtyard, and under the awning to find this moth.

15. Head Faculty Tower – [Grand Staircase] requires Alohomora I to pass the gate to the Head floors of the Grand Staircase Tower from the Trophy Room surround. While the frame is mounted adjacent to the Headmaster’s office access, the pictured ceiling truss with moth attached lies back down at the bottom of the stairs. Go back down and turn around.

Accio Pages (21 Pages)

1. Central Hall – [Library Annex] looping the width of the Central Hall main floor above the fountain and both descending stairs.

2. South Side Central Hall – [Library Annex] hovering over the descent from the Central Hall to the Transfiguration Courtyard.

3. East Landing Central Hall Stairs – [Library Annex] flitting a complex path about the Divination stairwell, amongst the banners, pillars, and rafters above the Viaduct entrance of the Central Hall stairs.

4. Library – [Library Annex] looping the north and south bookcases of the upper floor of the library.

5. Grand Staircase – [Grand Staircase] passing a clockwise course about the stairwell axis, rising and falling about the moving staircase floor spurs to the Great Hall and the Faculty Tower.

6. Viaduct Courtyard Entrance Hall – [Great Hall] flying over the entrance hall stairs between the Great Hall and the Viaduct Courtyard.

7. Quad Courtyard South – [Grand Staircase] looping about the tree and stairs to the south side of the Quad Courtyard.

8. Overhead the Yawning Gargoyle – [Great Hall] loops about the Yawning Gargoyles statue and cupola dome of the Hufflepuff Garden adjacent to the Great Hall.

9. Astronomy Lounge – [Astronomy Wing] coursing above the Astronomy Lounge between the Astronomy tower stairwell and the Charms Classroom.

10. Basement Cask Storage – [Astronomy Wing] in the deeper halls there, where a large group of casks hold various stores, the page loops over and under a small overhead walkway.

11. Clock Tower (Pendulum level) – [South Wing] not always visible from the ground floor, it can still be summoned from there in the Clock Tower Courtyard entrance hall.

12. Bell Tower Entry Hall – [Bell Tower Wing] high above the northern end of the hall, easily missed given all the Revelio pages at ground level.

13. Greenhouse Fountain – [Bell Tower Wing] after the first day, this is found at the end of a walking path northeast of the Bell Tower Grounds, and north of the Greenhouses

14. Beasts Class – [Bell Tower Wing] after the initial day, to the southeast of the West Wing is Professor Howin’s Apartment and the Beasts Class and pens. The page arcs a counterclockwise course over the pens and building.

15. Owlery – [Bell Tower Wing] amongst other pages in the tower, this one circles counterclockwise the uppermost conventionally accessible deck of the Owlery.

16. Faculty Tower – [South Wing] during or after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest, the page orbits a small loop in the stairwell.

17. Hospital Wing – [South Wing] during or after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest, the page keeps to the rafters high above the dispensary floor, tracing the hospital’s length.

18. Hieroglyphics Hall – [Bell Tower Wing] requires Alohomora I to enter the hall via one of the doors leading to this special west wing of the History of Magic floor.

19. Deathday Party Room – [Great Hall] requires Alohomora I to enter the special hall amongst the dungeons where the ghosts celebrate that most special of their nights.

10. Hospital Wing – [South Wing] During/after “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” quest, this statue occupies the same landing as the Prefect’s Bathroom door.

11. Dungeon Frog Passage – [Astronomy Wing] Requires Alohomora I, in the cask storage basement dungeon nearby the Alchemy and Human Studies classrooms, a locked grate opens to a set of frog-jump connected rooms as well as this statue.
